Whenever I read a completed manga series, I always like to review it when I finish it, and it's been so long since I finished an entire series in one day. This one was the perfect one to binge and read on a Sunday before going to work for a new week.
I always used to get reels and tiktoks about Ao Haru Ride's anime adaptation, and it always made me want to stop whatever I am doing and start it but it never was the right time to do so. But yesterday I decided today is the day to start reading the manga and stop feeling so FOMO about it. And I was so happy I made this decision 😭
All the relationships, the story, the day to day lives of regular high school teenagers and the struggles of their feelings. It was all so raw and real, my heat was aching like 80% of the time.
The way Futaba and Kou's relationship started was everything wrong. Right Person, Wrong Time. The worst kind of trope especially when you are a teenager. But this was the buildup for a great second chance romance when she met him again in high school. I love that they did not immediately get together, because to be fair, this does not happen easily. You cannot fall in love with someone's past self when their newer self changed a lot. So I loved that they discovered themselves again, they even dated and talked to other people.
But in the end, when a strong connection is made between two people, nothing can come between them. If the connection is strong and deep, they can only be with each other. And I was so glad they were honest with themselves and with their friends.
It was such a good story, I could not not love it. I will for sure watch the anime some time soon and I know I will really enjoy it ❤️❤️

This series. THIS SERIES. I was so happy I finally picked it up, I tried reading in both English and French which was an experience. I loved this story so much. Even though it was fiction, it was realistic and I honestly felt like I’d experienced some of the character’s feelings when I was in high school. Through my dang exams, studying, and a half an hour subway delay, I’ve finished this awesome manga and I could not be happier!

*Review of Entire Series*
Mannnnn. I'm conflicted.I was genuinely rooting for Kikuchi. Tanaka was acting so disrespectful with Futaba. But I do believe this scare will make Tanaka be on his best behavior, so I suppose if it makes Futaba happy, then I'm fine with it. Still, I had a pretty good time before I got attached to Kikuchi. It did feel a bit convoluted with the addition of so many couples near the end, but I'm too much of a sucker for lovey dovey moments to not get attached to everyone.
