Just as cute as book one. The love triangle thing going on here is a little far fetched, but still makes for some fun high school romantic drama.

One thing I appreciate is the kind of self respect this 16yo MC demonstrates. It’s not preachy either. It’s just one sweet girl with thoughts and feelings common to so many adolescents who are still trying to make sense of the world and their place in it. Unfortunately while immersed IN adolescence, it’s easy to convince yourself that you’re the only one, that everyone is at least a couple of steps ahead of you, whether it’s sex, college plans, etc. Lara Jean is plenty unsure, but when it comes to the most serious stuff she has a great head on her shoulders.

Picking up book three now 😄

Now that I’ve completed the second book in this series, I will say that there is something about this series that draws you in. I got through this book so quickly, and am already anticipating starting the final one. I love the storyline as a whole, and the characters are all so interesting and loveable! Jenny Han knows how to work the emotions! On the flip side, however, I just couldn’t get behind some of the plot points of this book. Lara Jean was too caught up in Peter and Gen throughout the duration to substantially grow and consider other options. Also, I think Peter really needs to examine his actions and put himself in LJ’s shoes, to see why things he did bothered her so much. I LOVED John Ambrose McClaren’s character, and wish that his present plot with LJ was lengthened a bit. I feel that he was too quickly brushed off and the “resolution” came a little too quickly.

I liked this one better than the second book. It started off a bit slow with Lara Jean and Peter figuring out their relationship. But, enter John Ambrose McClaren… I still love Lara Jean and find her so relatable that’s it’s painful. I wish these had been around when I was in high school I would have been obsessed!

A nice sequel, though not as good as the first book. I did find it hard to put down towards the end.
There were quite a few 'just communicate!' moments though, and often I felt like Lara Jean, Peter and Gen were all in the wrong which was frustrating! But you have to let it go.. they're 16.
A lot more talk of sexual content in this book but no more action than kisses and a mention of a boy's hand under a girl's shirt but over bra.
