This is my first book by this author. I'm glad for the reviews. I usually shy away from books this long. But this one was 2 couples in one. It worked.
Cartier and Damien loved their women. I laughed, and I cried. Love the crime boss part of the book. The women were strong characters, which was refreshing. Even with the self-doubt (who doesn't), it wasn't overdone.
I'm glad there is no sequel for the couples in this book. The time jump to Kam looks like some foreshadowing, and I am looking forward to his book.
I will be reading parts of this book again. So well done. Great writing, too.

This was a decent read. Sort of my first time reading “dark romance” but I was excited that the author and the characters were black. However I think this book was overhyped. It wasn’t the type of read that I couldn’t put down.
