I just love villainous hero’s and Sirius did not disappoint. I loved the chemistry between Malin and Sirius, even though I felt as if their HEA was missing something. It almost felt a little rushed and I understand the need to provide a backstory to the couple we met at the end of the previous novel and what caused such a change. That backstory took up 60% of the novel, leaving the rest of it feeling rushed. I did love the conclusion and segue-way into the next novel. I did notice Brynn was also mentioned at the end of the previous novel, wasn’t present in this one but is in the heroine in the next. The timeline is a little off. Other than those minute details, it was a good read.

Bec McMaster is the only romance author I pre-order 🤣 I love all of her books so much!
Heroes are always angsty, romances are always lush and intimate, and the fantasy story is always adventurous! If you like Fated Mates trope, class differences, fantasy/dragons/magic, and redemption themes, then you’ll love this book!

The Goods
Yearning, Angst, Thwarted Desire - love love love it all.

I like the overall story here about betrayed kings, evil queens, banished princes, etc etc. it was the most most most evil villain, the kind where you cheer when they die and are vanquished.

Books!!! He gifts her books!! I could’ve swooned. Overall, the way he played, protected, and watched over her for the years that he knew her and wanted her was very sweet.

We finally get to know what happened to start this whole shift in power in the dreki court!

TORMUND!! I didn’t know until after reading this that he gets his own book!! I’m so excited!!

The Bads
No big complaints really; I like my romances steamy, so maybe this one was a little lighter on the romances than my preference.

The main part of this book overlaps in the timeline with the second book of the series. There was a bit of feeling like that was a retelling of the second book from a different perspective, so it felt a little slower in the beginning. When the third book caught up with the ending of the second book, then it felt like the adventure took off at warped speed from there.

The Uglies
No trigger warnings here

Clash of Storms was quite enjoyable. I liked both Malin and Sirius, and the further development of the politics of the Dreki court. The epilogue was quite intriguing, and I hope there are plans to continue with this series soon.

Back to the Legends of Storm universe where we follow Dreki Sirius and Drekling Malin.

I think this book does a good job of having Malia and Sirius' relationship take time to form, with having Malin slow to trust Sirius and Sirius battling his urge to be with her to protect his brother.
i think the plot could have been better with some more open communication between them. This by no means has any miscommunication trope.

I also need to give praise to Malin for pulling Andris and Rurik on some stuff. I thought it was good to show that our past main characters are not now perfect after their stories are finished.
