Before BEER RUN OF THE DEAD, there was SCARY FUCKING STORIES by DF Noble. This is a collection of nightmare inducing yarns that could only have been spun by the dark mind of DF Noble. You been warned.
In contrast to the feel of BEER RUN OF THE DEAD, this collection of short stories takes on a decidedly more dreadful tone. Each story seems to borrow from some real life experiences then they are dealt a literary broken nose and bloodied lip to add that special creep factor. The result is a collection of stories that sends chills down your spine and have you turning off the lights and reading by candle light. Noble makes your own fright an addiction and this book is the drug.
The demonic fiction is great but what really puts this fright fest over the top are the real moments DF Noble shares with the reader. The last story is a recounting of a few unexplainable moments the writer has in his life. It reads as if your sitting around a fire in the woods throwing back a few beers while yer old buddy Don tries to freak you out with these crazy stories... But its all real. Then in one of the greatest feats of genre fiction, Noble actually creeped me out in the Forward of the book. That never happens!
I never am really scared by ghost stories or horror. The truth is akways scarier. SCARY FUCKING STORIES takes both sides of the coin and blurs the line. The effect is chilling. You may not scream but you will certainly want to.
