I enjoyed reading A Deadly Education, but I wasn't ravenous to consume it. Several lines left me wondering if I had somehow forgotten how to process the English language, and I had to force myself to move past this. But, "You are dating me?" makes up for it all. A Deadly Education is Harry Potter if Hogwarts didn't have teachers, and somehow more students died.

LOVED the narrator. It’s fun following a young women with a good heart but evil leaning magic affinity. Enjoyed it. Don’t take it too seriously and you’ll have fun.

El is in her junior here at the Scholomance, where she's learning magic to protect herself from male. However, her power affinity is for destruction, and El is finding it hard to learn spells that won't bring mass destruction to the school nor to the whole world. When she stars getting close with the golden boy, Orion, El gets noticed by the other kids, and so her probability of getting killed raised exponentially because everything at the Scholomance is out to kill you, even food.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat since page 1. I can't wait to read book 2 to figure out what will happen to El, Orion and the rest of their friends now that they've become seniors.
