The audiobook is amazing, an author reading their own work truly transforms the experience of reading it. I don't think I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did if I had simply read it. Part of me can't believe this was published in 1997 because there are so many similarities to the America of today. There are some writing and plot elements that could have been revisited in editing but I think this is an example of Burton's storytelling and the way he brings stories to life as a narrator.
