4.25 stars! okay that was actually really good i had a lot of fun listening to this! it was nice that they had the podcast episodes within the chapters because it really set the vibe for the book. at one point towards the end I had a feeling who did it but I was not expecting how the ending would go down. I literally waited 6 weeks for this audiobook to be available on the Libby app and I will say it was worth the wait in my opinion!

This left me more emotional than I expected. Most of the story is told with an underlying wit and sarcasm. By the end we are reminded that this was a woman who lost her life. In a sense it plays with the conflict of liking true crime--the stories can be interesting but in the end, those are real people experiencing truly horrific things. Yes, this is fiction, and overall the plot is a fairly standard domestic thriller. Something about that ending though, just struck a chord with me in the best way.

Fun and entertaining but not as twisty as I was expecting. I think this genre is kind of over done but still a worthwhile read. Ultimately the “men believe men” at the end angle soured me on the whole thing.
