I'm a sucker for a mash up/pastiche. I wasn't a big fan of this though.  Moore is a good writer - virtuoso marrying together so many allusions and stories, from Shakespeare to Poe to Pratchett not to mention some actual history apparently and an insightful reframe of Lear. But a lot of the humor is so ugly (misogynist, ablelist, ageist, homophobic) and cringingly dirty. I'm still enough of a sucker for mash ups I'm off to check out the rest of the series though...

One of the funniest books I have read in a long while, though the humour is very sexual and profanity runs rife along with some unchristian jibes, so I don't think the humour is for everyone. But I personally loved this book and the author in general always a pleasure to read (if you are not religious or easily offended).
