This was a good insight into Eve's character. Talia Hibbert does a good job in making things heartwarming, slightly ridiculous, and a bit cheesy without it being cringey (much like Eve herself). I liked how the relationship between Jacob and Eve progressed; it felt very natural (even though it went from hatred to love in 2 weeks, but the progression and getting to know each other period was done well, and both characters are quite intense with their emotions, so for them it makes sense). For side characters, as usual Gigi is iconic, and if there aren't books dedicated to Alex and Tessa, then there should be! I still think that the second book did the best with the third act break-up, but this book also did it pretty well. It was so sweet to see their conflict resolved with an honest conversation (as it should be; it could have been resolved right away with such, but I get Jacob's issues and insecurities as well as the need to build tension for a more cathartic payoff) as well as a grand romantic gesture that perfectly suits the couple (dramatic as they BOTH are). This was sweet and lovely. This family is so chaotic and iconic, and I love them (the fact that Gigi and Shivani are the voices of reason of the family is absolutely hilarious since Gigi is so dramatic all on her own, but her down-to-earth advice always hits).

This book was such a fun romp! I enjoyed the plot, characters, their arcs, and even the third-act conflict/resolution. Sometimes the third-act conflict can feel too much to overcome and resolve, but this was perfect. I sincerely did not enjoy Jacob in the first third of the book and felt he was being overly rude verging on cruel. This is the reason I knocked half a star off. I'm also unsure about how I feel about the self-diagnosis that happens here. I think if Jacob was the only autistic person in the book, the rating would've been lower, as it would've felt like generalizing autistic people are difficult, rude, and abrupt.

Oh darling Eve!!! It took a second for this one to connect, but man I was hooked when it did. Eve is the youngest of the Brown sisters and the wayward soul of the family. After an ultimatum from her family, Even finds herself in a job interview gone wrong. One awkward fender-bender later she finds herself working at an in with a very handsome and surly innkeeper who can’t seem to help but fall for Eve’s whimsy. This story took the age old family screw up narrative and really turned it on it’s head. I loved Eve’s journey of self discovery from falling love with a new career to opening up to the possibility of being on the autism spectrum. The disability and autism rep was great. The spice was masterful. A beautiful way to wrap up the story of the Brown sisters!
