This was a great book to read for fun. No special message, but it was definitely humorous and I got quite a few looks while laughing aloud on the bus.

An amazing hilarious romp through the mind of Douglas Adams. It's wacky and existential in all the right places. However, in terms of sheer enjoyability, I would place the next book in the series, The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul, above this one. But that may be personal preference, as I read that one first.

That’s really interesting and sometimes even mind blowing.

Douglas Adams is frustrating because his books are really well written, the plots and descriptions are engaging and smart and funny, but his characters are just so unlikeable that I don't really enjoy reading it. I hardly know what to rate this.

Read for Read Harder 2019: a humor book.

Not much like the show...which I liked. Soooo, I sort of liked this book. I think the show makes Dirk more likable while still capturing the fact that he's a jerk. Not sure if I'll read the second book.

(Sidebar: reading this overlaps with watching the Good Omens show. It's like I'm immersing myself in classic British fantasy and finding all the rough edges.)
