A forever fave! I didn’t review Honey and Spice when I first read it three years ago. I just closed the book, said “Yes, honey. Yes.” and gave it five stars. Re-reading it to prepare for Sweet Heat instantly reminded me why I love Kiki and Malakai so much. Even after all these years, I could still recall certain lines of prose and dialogue. Bolu truly has a gift! And even knowing the ins and outs and ups and downs of Kiki and Malakai’s journey, I was still giggling and kicking my feet. This time, I listened to the audiobook, and it was such a treat. Weruche Opia did a fantastic job bringing the story to life.
It was my obsession with this book that made me know, back in 2022, when Sweet Heat was still called Sun Under Skin, that we were getting a sequel. And I can’t wait to finally read it in a few weeks!

Bolu Babalola does not disappoint. "I don't want to give myself to someone who doesn't know what to do with me. I . . . don't want to lose myself." If I wasn't already in love with Kiki's character I would have fallen in love with her then. The way that Malakai was tender with her is a possibility model for all. Bolu Babalola was written a masterpiece.
