Okay, look, this is a cute book. However, I felt embarrassed while reading this novel. I am the nerd who understood all of the Star Trek references (props, I really enjoyed them all). However, I also got completely side swept in confusion by half of the comments that the main character made, like what does it mean for a boy to, "look cocky in a way unique to dorks -like he just leveled up in Dungeons & Dragons". I did send this to both of my D&D groups, and one expressed definite second-hand embarrassment. Sorry, total off-topic rant, but my point was that the cliché of the dork falling for the popular girl was a bit too over the top in this for my tastes.
Nonetheless, this book did amazing at plot delivery. The unique plot of being from a line of Fairy Godmothers, and the desire to fulfill the Happily Ever After endings to others was super cute. Although, I could have lived in the ending sequence a bit longer comprehending how the family was going to fall into place in the end, I still found some enjoyment.

Really cute. I liked how long it took Charity to learn from her mistakes--it felt realistic & her relationship with Noah was fun. I despised him at first (like Charity did) but he grew on me as their relationship developed, so that was done perfectly. Great prose, a great unified story with just enough about each character to make it interesting.

Glimpsed is a funny and cute book. I loved:
1) The protagonist (Charity) Most of the time, it's a jock with a nerdy girl. But here the role is reversed. Charity is in poms squad and Noah is a geek. But Charity isn't just another white mean girl. Instead, she is empathetic and has a heart size of a mountain. She is one of the most adorable protagonists ever. Also, loved her hair color maniac self. It was so inspiring to read!!

An enjoyable quick read.
I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings - if one was to ask what was my favorite genre of book, that would be my answer. While this wasn't really a retelling, just more of a "fairy godmother in modern times" story, it did capture a lot of that fairytale magic.
I really enjoyed the slow blossoming friendship and then romance between Charity and Noah. Very sweet and the "Grand Gestures" at the end had me cheering. I loved the growth of the characters.
The family dynamics with Charity and her mom/sister and grandma really were my big disappointment in the book. It just seemed to be resolved without any kind of retrospection (especially with Mom).

I really enjoyed the premise and the characters even though I did spend a lot of time internally screaming “stop being willfully stupid!” at Charity. If you’re not clued into nerd culture, I could see the frequent Star Trek and other references getting really old.
