📖 Warrior Cats - Gefährliche Spuren

📝 Rezension:

Oh boy, have I been wrong.

Spoilers.

I'm writing this as tears are still streaming down my face. What a heartbreaking, but touching ending this book had. As I've mentioned before every single one of these books has made me cry or tear up at least once. There have been two moments that made me properly cry. The first was when Yellowfang died, and the second is when Bluestar died, after being saved by her kits who forgave her, her faith restored in Fireheart and StarClan, and saw Oakheart come to her as she died. Just so, so touching. These are children's books but they never fail to rip my heart out. It should be studied.

That being said, out of the five I've read so far, this one is probably my least favorite, and the only one I didn't rate five stars. My reasons are mostly that I was so sad to see Bluestar descend into a cruel, disenchanted leader. And while I understand this is part of the plot, I just thought it was talked about too often, or she'd say snide remarks way too much. I also felt that the threat with the dogs was dealt with very quickly. Every other book before this one had been 30 chapters, and this one was 27. I don't think it needed to be 30 chapters, but maybe just one more to flesh out dealing with the threat a little more in depth.

Cloudtail is so sweet to Brightpaw (I refuse to call her by the cruel name Bluestar gave her). I think I remember that in book 6 Fireheart will change her name, at least I hope.

I also thought it was a little convenient for the story for Fireheart to simply accept that maybe Tigerstar didn't care to destroy Thunderclan or kill him and Bluestar anymore simply because he'd become leader of Shadowclan. Every cat deserved to know what he'd done, and that he was unfit to rule.

I'm glad Greystripe is back in Thunderclan too. I don't know why I remembered that he just disappeared or something.

Otherwise this was still a great time, and once again, Macleod Andrews makes listening to these so incredibly enjoyable. Can't wait to see how it all wraps up in The Darkest Hour.
