pros: The book brings back Tom's point of view. Almost all of the (still living) characters make an appearance.
cons: I'm not sure what to think about Alice's storyline.

I feel slightly cheated. I was expecting to finish this book and be done with this series, but there is a (fairly large) unresolved plot point at the end, which is addressed in a separate trilogy. I want to know what happens, so I guess I'm reading the trilogy.
This wasn't a bad book, it was ok, and I was ready for the series to be over. I also would have appreciated a few chapters from Alice's POV. I know that these books only have one POV, but after Alice having been such a central part of the story, it was disappointing to not see much of her. I am also a bit disappointed because I feel like with Alice, Delaney could have explored whether the intentions behind our actions matter, but he didn't really explore this at all. This has been somewhat ongoing throughout the series, but really became apparent in the previous book, where Alice is using dark magic in order to fight the dark, but just because it's dark magic, she runs the risk of becoming part of The Dark. I would have liked a more nuanced depiction of this, if that makes any sense.
And I'm kind of even more annoyed about the whole Slither thing because it really just became a plot device to set up for Alice's betrayal and for the sequel trilogy, both of which I'm kind of annoyed by.

A fitting final for the series, tied up a lot of story and character archs and laif the foundation for the next series.

More of a 2.5 stars. Satisfying ending except from a few plot points which just PUSHED MY BUTTONS!
