Seduction, without the passive vulgarity that persists in modern literature.
Allegories, without the pretension that invades the works of poets.
Beauty, with a flow so natural that it sweeps you from reality and delivers to the world of the words.
And women, magnificent, magical and immortal.

girl, i hate this
i didn't connect with any of his poems, maybe a single line in between all the creepy text i got through. why was this man so attracted to women being still/silent? why does he call someone "little one" and proceed to talk about their breasts? i don't go through goodreads reviews before reading but i do scroll past them & i'm shocked that i mostly saw 4-5 star reviews at the top

anyway, the author is not a good person AND i don't like his poetry - the stars align!

Lovely! I only wish I knew Spanish because the poems must be wonderful in Neruda's own tongue.

Although I can read Spanish pretty well im grateful there were English language translations to help me figure out what I was reading.

This is exactly the kind of poetry book that I would pull out if I were in a YA Coming of Age Main Character and/or that one guy Eric dumps in Sex Education
