A solid 3 because the writing was not great and some parts I only got thru by skimming (but they're also British which made the weirdness less weird somehow). The writing was just... honestly downright awful at points and it got a bit cringy at some parts too. Buttttttttttttt the sex was hot so it gets a few points for that. 14 year old me would've loved this book idk what that says about me but. it was enjoyable enough and pretty hot. In my mind Roxy would end up with Diesel if she ever settled down with one of them.

This book is intensely dark and not for the faint of heart. It has some of the darkest themes I have seen in a book in a long time. Please please read the content warnings and make sure this is a book for you.

But overall, this book is very well written with an interesting plot and constantly evolving characters!!

This is like a Wattpad book on steroids. It's definitely not realistic in any way and lots of it is uncomfortable to say the least. Therapy is needed.

I just wanted it to end but there were like 30 more pages of sex scenes and I just couldn’t do it. This book should have only been 300 pages as it only took place within the span of a week. While the author makes a point to have Roxy explicitly say she likes all the abusive and Stockholm syndrome-y shit they do to her, I can’t get past it. It’s one thing to role play and have rough sex, it’s another thing entirely to read about it happening to someone else without them talking about hard and soft limits or safe words. Like are we the reader to assume that Roxy has absolutely no limit for pain as pleasure, or that she just coincidentally met these 4 insane assholes who coincidentally have the same exact kinks as her? I think I would have found it slightly more bearable if the author had one of the guys cross a limit for her and then there were consequences to that and they talked about it. The only person who’s line gets crossed as far as sex is concerned is garret, because he was traumatized by a woman. Roxy was beat by her father and yet these bastards are constantly slamming her up against walls and cutting her and choking her until she can’t breathe. You can’t tell me that wouldn’t have triggered a flashback. You can’t. This is just another instance where women are painted to be objects for a man’s pleasure and never the other way around. I fucking hated this book. I wish I could chuck it at K.A. knights head. For legal reasons that’s a joke but this book sucked. If you have sexual trauma DONT READ IT.

What in the fresh hell is this? I couldn’t even finish it. I thought it would be funny but my god.

I won't comment on the sexual and violent content this book has. Though I deem it excessive, it may be someone's cup of tea. But dear god, this book was not in any shape or form meant for me.

FIRST OF ALL, these people have no sense of boundaries. I don’t care what you do in the comfort of your own home. But these people are sharing this woman that they KIDNAPPED and they are all so freaking obsessed with her because…she’s not like other girls (shocking, I know). She’s not like other girls because she’s dumb by the way. But she just screws this band of brothers and they are like “yeah, cool”.

Also, the pacing of this is so erratic. And by focusing on so many character POVs at once, you lose track, and shit gets blown up. There’s one character (I don’t even care if I’m spoiling it; it’s a bad book, you shouldn’t be reading it anyway) who spends the whole beginning part of the book hating her and how much he is attracted to her (classic) and then suddenly out of the blue, he’s like “I’ve fallen in love with her.” Why?! There’s no development. Just a bunch of dummies simping around for a woman (violently I might add) and killing randos in the process.

But it wasn’t the violence, the plot, the characters but the writing that got me to stop reading. I don’t like not finishing books. But with this writing, I had to. Here are some of my favorites, if you will…

ALSO, it occurred to me halfway through that these people are British. And it made it so much funnier. Just imagine all these but sounding like the Peaky Blinders lol.

“‘I think I’m in love. Do you think she would shoot me if I ask?’”

“The colour of her hair is the shade of ice…the colour of my soul.”

“I snarl as I rip off my shirt and storm to my bag, throwing some punches and getting all my aggression out. ”

“So I do the only thing a girl faced with losing a slice of cheesy heaven can do. I grab my fork and stab it into his hand.”

“It’s like one of those thirst trap images you see online that makes you go ‘dayummm.”

“‘You dare insult our princess?’”

“silky ass”

“‘How dare he? She’s mine!’”

And my personal favorite: “The sound of my mum’s screams with her moan which I swallow.”

This book should not be this long. It really shouldn't. There has been a vague synopsis of a plot, and only 60% into the book do we actually see them do something about it but it is so underdeveloped it's not even gripping.

Oh and don't even get me started on Roxy being "not like other girls" because the f***ing gull of this b-. Every other female character is labeled as fake and gold diggers because they have lip fillers and boob implants. But not Roxy. Oh no, homegirl listened to AC/DC and has opinions so she is just super unique. Plus she's just rude. Like she makes comment on people like its supposed to be funny when its just insulting. She reminds me of a high school bully.

Also the vague misogyny in the male POVs??? The way they degrade other women and then elevate Roxy??? Or Roxy shaming other women for sleeping with older men to get jewels when she sleeps with FOUR older men and gets jewels???

Plus the repetitiveness of these characters. Like we get it. They are YOUR Vipers.

Not even the smut could keep me intrigued.
