I absolutely loved this book. 1000% worth the hype. There were a few moments that really pushed past my personal comfort zone and a good number of typos in the book so I’m not going to give it 5 stars but I really loved it otherwise. Roxy is such a badass and I love the growth of all the guys and the way they all compliment each other. I was blown away by some of the timeless wisdom about life woven into the book as well.

So. Check your trigger warnings before you decide to pick up this book. I include some below. I would also suggest you check the tropes and themes, just to be sure it's within your reading comfort zone.

Did I enjoy the book? Yes and no. I went into the book not knowing what it was about and with no expectations. In a nutshell, it's a mafia RH, enemies to lovers, finding family story. It sounds so... pretty normal if I put it like that.

Don't expect
* Good or morally grey characters, they're dark to the core
* Any bad characters converted to becoming good and upstanding citizens
* Romance or respect

That being said, the storyline intrigued me enough to finish the book but I'll admit, I skimmed over a lot of the chapters.

The plot was soft. The timeline vs how the characters changed towards each other, was unrealistic. There was so much spice, it became boring and just too much.

It felt as though the author was trying to keep the story alive by drowning readers with spice scene after spice scene, adding some attempted CPR in the form of increased shock value and torture, especially in the sex scenes, hints of brotherly banter and the most cringy pillow talk I've heard in a long time.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't mind spice, the dark and morally black characters or even the cruelty and darkness(it's supposed to be a mafia story after all), but this story could have been wrapped up in 300 pages instead of over 600. Roxy could have had some more self-respect seeing as she is such a fighter. And be less cringy. And the plot could have had a lot more meat on its bones.

Maybe the author didn't have intentions of a strong story, maybe her intention was 600 pages of cringy smut and if that's what you're into, you are her target audience and I should have done some research before picking up this book...

🔥Trigger warnings!
* Abduction
* Crude language
* Sexual abuse
* Physical abuse
* Graphic sex scenes including some kinks which might disturb some readers
* Graphic torture and death scenes
* Pyromania

Right off it needs to be stated this book has flaws and is far from a perfect book. With that covered personally this book is deep in my trash pocket. This is a Dark Romance and has a plethora of triggers. To name a few being domestic violence, death of a parent, child abuse, and substance abuse. With that let get into the story itself. The first fifty pages are very rough to get through. First there Roxy who the poster child for not like other girls energy. All four men are very rough to stomach esspecially with there interactions with Roxy. After that for me the book greatly improves. That improvement was because the characters emotionally open up and the relationship developed. All four men won me over being emotionally vulnerable and sharing there feeling and past. Those emotional moments and scenes won me over more then the spicy scenes in this book. That was got this book into my feels. Now the book has a lot of spicy and that spicyness is very dark and might not be for everyone. For me Garrett stole my heart in this book because he a big gruff guy but with a soft heart. After Garrett it goes Diesel, Ryder, and Kenzo. The writing of this book isn't great esspecially cause there are typos and the author would use wrong characters names when there supose to be somewhere else in the scene. Or the scene is disjointed because of writing or doesn't make sense. This book has flaws, but it did get in my trsh pocket feels and i did really enjoy.

The Vipers run the city. Ryder is the face of the organization, Kenzo runs the casinos, Garrett is the muscle, and Diesel is the psychotic assassin. After her dad gets into debt with the
Vipers, he gives them Roxy as payment. She is then taken and held captive by the Vipers.

Each one of the five of them is broken in some way. Ryder and Kenzo, along with Roxy's fathers were abusive assholes. Garrett hates women because of what his ex did to him. Diesel is traumatized from the death of his mother. The five of them come together to form their own, found family and help to heal each other.

Roxy is truly a badass and hold her own in every situation. She has these men wrapped around her fingers.

I liked the idea of the multiple POV, but every chapter is written pretty much the same. If the characters name wasn't given at the start of the chapter, I wouldn't have been able to pick out whose POV it was. Considering how different these men are, especially Diesel, you would think that the POV would have reflected them more.

This book is LONG. Like 200 pages too long. I considered DNFing this book multiple times.

The best part of the book is when the conflict with the Triads happen. There are some funny moments with Diesel, otherwise there were so many parts that were repetitive and boring.

Tropes: found family, enemies to lovers
Relationships: reverse harem

This book is intensely dark and not for the faint of heart. It has some of the darkest themes I have seen in a book in a long time. Please please read the content warnings and make sure this is a book for you.

But overall, this book is very well written with an interesting plot and constantly evolving characters!!
