This may be the darkest book ever written.  Very gory. I don’t usually have triggers but this book triggered me. I don’t think it’s a bad book at all. But if you have any triggers at all, I would skip this one.

The book was great.
A perfect example of men that we love in book but not in real life !

There were parts where I  enjoyed this book but it definitely dragged on. Super spicy parts, I really love spicy books but it felt like that’s all the book was - to the point I’d skim through it. It was repetitive and every chapter (I think there was like 70 chapters) had a spicy scene that was the same as the last time she slept with that person. Jen I was halfway through and saw it was only A WEEK she’s been there… and she’s loving them? Please. Roxy bothered me a lot. She was really irritating and cringey, the best way I could describe it was she had the pick me energy and it was annoying. Ryder was definitely my number one but everytime I got to his POV it was like 5 minutes long and everyone else’s was like 15-20. As much as I LOVE a spicy, f’ed up dark romance, I almost looked forward to parts where they were just existing and having fun together and for once NOT having sex. I truly don’t know how I made it through this book I remember towards the end I was rolling my eyes and huffing and puffing because there was still like 80 pages to go. I wanted to DNF it but I was so close to the end I sucked it up and I’m mad I spent my time reading this book. It was on my TBR for awhile and I kinda wish I kept it there lol. It also didn’t need to be this long of a book… it felt like writing a paper and having to reach a certain character limit because it was repetitive. Ugh honestly save your time and sanity and don’t read this, or do but the reviews mentioning the same things were right and I wish I read them before hand. So if you read it, good luck

DNF @ 40% (some mild spoilers ahead)

The four love interest’s (Ryder, Kenzo, Garret and Diesel) suck. I would say that somewhere along the way their brains stopped developing so that’s why whenever I read their POV’s they sound like 14-15 year olds (could even argue for 13). Only this can explain why they do too much throughout the book. Am I supposed to feel sorry for an incel or a rapist or a pyromaniac.

As for Roxy… girl stand up. It’s sad to say that I liked her character up until the point they kidnapped her. I truly wished that the four men she beat up in the beginning were the actual vipers but of course that can’t happen because as always the men are protected by plot armour. I’m tired of authors making the main character super badass and unbeatable until they come across their love interest and suddenly they’re the weakest person in the world and can’t even land a punch. It’s okay to allow the women to beat a man up.

I’m still trying to find the redeeming qualities in the men that she says makes her love them. All the male interest’s do is scream at her, degrade her, keep her prisoner and play with her but yet I’m supposed to agree that the men truly love her. Trying to find the romance in this book is harder than trying to find where’s Wally. It’s so obvious that she’s suffering from Stockholm syndrome because how else do you fall in love with psychopaths and sociopaths who consistently treat you as a toy for their pleasure. Also are we supposed to believe that Roxy has all the power in this book but in actuality how is she supposed to fight four steroid taking, over noxious and controlling men. Let’s not even start on the level of violence the men commit that can rival actual serial killers.

The sold to 1D by my father story’s on wattpad hit better than this.

Listen...this book started out really promising. Dark romance? Heck yeah. Smut? Give it to me! But at about 90%, all I could think is, "why is this book so GD long?" The unnecessary spicy scenes. The chapters of just info dumping. The cringey descriptions. I just can't do it anymore. You could take at least 3 of the unnecessar  spicy scenes out, and I swear this book would be 200 pages shorter. And much easier to get through.

WHAT DID I JUST READ?

Let me get this straight:
- it is dark, twisted and gore
- why choose
- incredible strong sassy bitter big mouth FMC (one of my favorite SO FAR)
- 4 Vipers (mafia):
Diesel the unhinged
Kenzo the sweet and calculated
Ryder the icy leader
Garrett the tortured enforcer

And you can say what ever you want but Diesel is the most interesting character I’ve ever read.

I laughed , I cringed, I pulled some tears (yes).
It was amazing.

Obviously read the TW because it is clearly NOT for everyone

There is a lot to be said about this book, so let me try and keep it as brief as possible.

The spice was there, and though I heard a lot of people saying the book has the same scenes over and over again, I personally thought that they were not repetitive and had a decent variety. Just please make sure to read the trigger warnings before starting this book.

One of the things I didn't like was the timeline in the story. It felt that things were happening faster, only to reveal that 1 week had gone by. Definitely think the timeline could have been adjusted to fit the plot a lot better.

Speaking of which, the plot in this book is very minimal in my opinion. I could have done with more depth and more intrigue. I wanted more plot and less "I'm a badass" from Roxy. Halfway through the book it just feels like it switched directions completely and then focuses solely on her and her emotions and how she is finally accepting her role with the Vipers. I am there for the self-acceptance, but it was just constantly thrown at the reader to the point where it got very annoying towards the end. I also was NOT a fan of this epic battle/conclusion at like 65-70% of the way through the book with incredibly long and drawn out happy ending scenes.

The writing wasn't the worst I've read, but it definitely isn't the best. Towards the end, it really started to annoy me when Roxy begins to sound like an angsty teen. I also got really tired of hearing Roxy say repetitive things like "the vipers venom is in me" and "I am a badass viper queen". Just please stop, once was enough.

Despite these shortcomings, I do have to admit I was drawn in from the start of this. I liked the differences in the Vipers and their conflicting personalities. Their backstories were tragic (perhaps a little too tragic) but I liked how they mostly stayed in character and didn't change too terribly much after acknowledging their feelings. Towards the last 10% of the book I did mostly skim over the 'happy ending'. This book was wayyyy longer than it needed to be, and should have been stopped at 400 pages instead of about 600. 3 out of 5 stars

What a wild ride, I think I may have found a new addition to my favorites list. THIS is dark romance done truly right, dark and gritty and violent but without being rapey like some other books. The plot was a teensy bit predictable, but the characters make you love them anyway and have you laughing along at all their adventures and snarky banter. This book deserves so much praise and love from the kink community.
