Okay, second time reading, and I know this is (arguably) Brandon’s weakest Cosmere book, but damn if THAT’S his weakest, it goes to show how good of a writer he is!

The setting is amazing. The world building is extremely cool and I love the way it builds off of the original trilogy. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and loved the change in writing style. I am excited for the next 3 books in this era of Mistborn.

DID NOT FINISH: 80%

I'm not sure why I couldn't get into this since it was the reason why I picked up Mistborn in the first place.

I liked these, but I remember getting burned out after reading them.

I dislike Sanderson’s sense of humor, and neither the characters nor story in Alloy of Law were not compelling enough to invest any more time. I wish I had finished it so I could have written a review, but I don’t intend to waste my time just for the sake of spite.

4th book in Mistborn series, first with the new cast of Wax & Wayne. The action scenes were as fun as the original trilogy but the dialogue took a significant step back in my opinion. It seems like half of the lines between the main characters were just sarcastic zingers which felt detrimental to the tension that was building up. The ending left me wanting as well, this first book with the new cast felt more like a brief vignette rather than groundwork to continue the series. I hope book 5 reels it in a bit with the marvel movie type of dialogue
