This was, at most, a 2 star read for me. I honestly had higher hopes for this book, and it was difficult for me to get through.
This is the first book in a series, but starts off like it's picking up from the end of another book. You just get dumped into the story with no idea what's happening or who anyone is, then the author later seems to remember that we need some background information and does a major info dump that still doesn't bring you up to speed. For being a "fluff" romantic comedy, it was honestly difficult to follow in some spots just because things are mentioned that we are apparently just supposed to know when we've never been told.
The characters didn't seem to be fully developed. Violet is supposed to be a dud witch with no powers, but her magic presents pretty quickly in the story with little to no explanation. Lincoln is supposed to be the big bad alpha of a shifter pack that wants to make big changes, but is honestly really one note.
This book seemed to have bitten off more than it could chew; there were so many elements that were not fully developed.

3.75-4⭐
This book was really cute and a fun read. Lincoln Thorne is super hot and is shortlisted for my Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame. The magic system was kind of confusing, but this was a 300 page fluffy romance, not an 800 page fantasy book. I was here for the romance, not for the world building. I really like the side characters and thought they fit into the story well. I'm hoping that Harper and Adrian get their own book!
