A love story with a bit too much smut for my liking. The plot and love story was great though. I was very invested

Really enjoyed reading this and didn’t want to put it down as I became invested in their love story
It has a few ‘spicy’ scenes but nothing that’s too much to ruin the relationship that was building.
Emotional story, made you feel hopeful, sad, worried, inspired, empathy, love, fear you could really start to feel how each character felt with the way the story was written - and maybe provokes some thinking about how people look at others and the way they behave etc.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a read :)

I loved the characters and the setting! I also really loved the relationship between Bree and Archer but thought that it was a bit rushed when I thought about the timeline in the book.

Somewhat of a nice love story but lots of gun violence, trauma, messiness that doesn’t really get resolved. The portrayal of Archer’s disability and the realization being considered groundbreaking that he’s not dumb like everyone thought he was simply because he can’t speak after
his uncle shot him in the throat as a child (?!)
< felt quite problematic and self congratulatory. It was a quick, easy read but lots of things felt glossed over and over-simplified. Bree’s friends and the other townspeople seemed like very unnecessary characters, should have been fleshed out more fully.

This book took me a while to get through, I'm glad I've finally finished it.
I wanted to like this book even though it has mixed reviews. It started off well and I was intrigued but from the middle onwards it became quite slow paced and monotonous. I became quite bored and uninterested and struck with it, it got slightly better at the very end.

I disliked how infantilised Archer was at times it seemed like he had the brain of a child and this made me feel uncomfortable reading some parts. It would've also been great to see Bree focus on herself, her goals and ambitions too. She moved to a new place as a single independent woman but then became completely besotted with someone and lost that part of herself.
