Absolutely 6 stars. I loved everything about this book, I laughed I cried I am just shook over how much I loved it I didn’t even want it to end. Archer and Bree’s relationship was so beautiful and I’m so happy archer was able to find confidence in his own skin.  I just am actually swooning over this book maybe higher than 6 stars? I loved it so much

Mia Sheridan’s Archer’s Voice is an emotional and unique romance that stands out in the genre. At its core, it tells the story of Archer Hale, a reclusive man who has lived in silence for years, and Bree Prescott, a woman looking for a fresh start. Their journey together is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, filled with healing, self-discovery, and love.

I had the pleasure of reading the special annotated edition, and it was really fun to see the author's insights throughout the book. The annotations added an extra layer to the reading experience, though at times, they hinted that something exciting was about to happen, which slightly took away from the surprise. Still, I appreciated the deeper look into Sheridan’s thoughts and process.

One of the biggest highlights of this book is Archer himself. He is so different from your typical romance male lead—vulnerable, quiet, and deeply wounded—but still incredibly attractive, delicious, and enjoyable to read. His character arc is compelling, and watching him open up and learn to express love was one of the most rewarding aspects of the story. Bree, on the other hand, took a little time to grow on me. There were moments where I found her a bit annoying, but overall, she was likable and had a good heart.

That being said, I did have some issues with the pacing. Bree gained Archer’s trust very quickly, and their romance developed almost instantly. While I can somewhat understand this from Archer’s perspective—since it was his first meaningful human connection in years—it still felt too fast for my liking. I would have much preferred a slower build-up to their relationship, allowing the emotional connection to feel more natural.

Because of this rushed beginning, the middle of the book started to drag. Their interactions became repetitive, and I found myself losing interest at times. It felt like the story stalled, with not much happening beyond their day-to-day moments together.

I also would have loved to have more of Archer’s POV. His character is so unique, and while we do get some insight into his thoughts and emotions, I think having more chapters from his perspective would have made the story even stronger. Seeing more of his internal struggles and how he processed his growing feelings for Bree would have deepened the emotional impact of the book.

Thankfully, the ending picked up again. While it was predictable, I still found it satisfying and enjoyable. The drama surrounding Archer’s past added an interesting layer to the story, and the small-town setting was fun and immersive. In the end, Archer himself carried the book for me—his character, his struggles, and his growth made it worth the read.

Overall, Archer’s Voice is a beautifully written romance with a unique hero and an emotional storyline. If the pacing had been more balanced, the romance had developed more gradually, and we had gotten more of Archer’s POV, I think I would have loved it even more. Still, it’s an engaging read that many romance fans will enjoy.

This book feels like a Hallmark movie with a lot more spice! It is sweet yet emotional, and it explores grief and trauma through both Archer and Bree. I did feel like it was a bit cheesy at times, hence the comparison to a Hallmark movie. Nevertheless, it has engaging plot-twists, and it keeps you wanting to read more!

Really enjoyed reading this and didn’t want to put it down as I became invested in their love story
It has a few ‘spicy’ scenes but nothing that’s too much to ruin the relationship that was building.
Emotional story, made you feel hopeful, sad, worried, inspired, empathy, love, fear you could really start to feel how each character felt with the way the story was written - and maybe provokes some thinking about how people look at others and the way they behave etc.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a read :)

I loved the characters and the setting! I also really loved the relationship between Bree and Archer but thought that it was a bit rushed when I thought about the timeline in the book.

I absolutely loved this story and I did not want it to end. The two main characters were inspiring and it was delightful watching them grow and overcome their challenges.  I enjoyed the setting - by a lake in Maine.
This book is special to me because I purchased it while on a grand indie bookstore binge trip with my daughter. I saw this at The Ripped Bodice and since it was a Special Edition I had to get it, right?! I am so happy to know this is the first book in a series.

Somewhat of a nice love story but lots of gun violence, trauma, messiness that doesn’t really get resolved. The portrayal of Archer’s disability and the realization being considered groundbreaking that he’s not dumb like everyone thought he was simply because he can’t speak after
his uncle shot him in the throat as a child (?!)
< felt quite problematic and self congratulatory. It was a quick, easy read but lots of things felt glossed over and over-simplified. Bree’s friends and the other townspeople seemed like very unnecessary characters, should have been fleshed out more fully.

This book took me a while to get through, I'm glad I've finally finished it.
I wanted to like this book even though it has mixed reviews. It started off well and I was intrigued but from the middle onwards it became quite slow paced and monotonous. I became quite bored and uninterested and struck with it, it got slightly better at the very end.

I disliked how infantilised Archer was at times it seemed like he had the brain of a child and this made me feel uncomfortable reading some parts. It would've also been great to see Bree focus on herself, her goals and ambitions too. She moved to a new place as a single independent woman but then became completely besotted with someone and lost that part of herself.
