Persuasion is the well done image of the every day life amid every sort of people. I loved that Persuasion shows what a true biblical women should act like during moments of high stress and emotion. The grace and humility that Anne strives to bear through out Persuasion is an excellent model.
The romantic "angst" that she deals with is expertly done, not over the top, yet shown to be a necessary part of the broken relationship. I found myself excited for the scenes between Anne and the romantic interest, instead of rolling my eyes and wishing they would get a grip on life.(often my reaction to angsty romances.) Anne's dedication to her faith and to loving even those that are hard to love is inspiring; Anne herself is truly an inspiring hereon.

2025: Persuasion, go to the head of the class! Or at least close... I've just finished this and I'm bumping it up to 3rd on my list of Austen favorites. In reality, it's 2nd but I'm still sentimental about Northanger Abbey since Catherine reminds me of my daughter...

But oh, did I love this story! I cried at Captain Wentworth's letter... my husband lovingly laughing at my sentimentality. I've never seen a film version of this so I think I'll be watching that this weekend.

I've often wondered what Jane would think of us reading some of her more vulnerable things like her letters and unfinished works. I think she reprimands us here when she says, <i>"...her seeing the letter was a violation of the laws of honor, that no one ought to be judged or to be known by such testimonies."</i>

I really enjoyed and related to the personality of Anne. This story is a treasure!

2013: Lovely, wonderful book! This is the first Austen story that I've read without already knowing the storyline. I'm so proud of myself for following it! Ha! The story of Anne and Captain Wentworth reminds me of how me and my husband's engagement came to be and was played out. Great story!

A beautiful, moving, heart-wrenching story about love, family, friendship, misunderstandings and persuasion.
This was my second Jane Austen novel and, though I really enjoyed it, it wasn't as amazing and thought-provoking as Pride and Prejudice. In addition, I loved the way everything wrapped up in the end and the writing style was just perfection.
