First of all, can I just say wow. After only reading the carter reed books by her {which is a way darker series} I still think her writing is amazing. I loved the character development with certain characters. I really like reading about people growing up and realizing how to be mature grown ups and I think this book captured that. The story progression is a bit of a slow burn, but a hot burn. Soon it sets your heart on fire until all you want is more. It had me on the edge of my seat, it made me laugh, cry, scream, and envelop it until the last word. And I still want more.

Now the hard part, how to review a book and talk about all it's awesomeness without any spoilers...

Summer shows up to college early thinking she would be with her stepbrother, Kevin. After a surprising scene before her eyes, she soon realizes that isn't going to happen. She then runs into the panty-melter, Caden. Caden is a member of Kevin's fraternity and is pure man. Probably my dream man. Haha Tall, tattooed, muscular, genuine, and super intense. Summer soon let's herself be just that, herself, with him. And they become friends. I love how quirky this character is. She is hilarious and basically had me rolling on the floor. Not sure what to say without spoiling anything so I shall end my review here. But definitely go read it!

Love the characters. Love the story it just ended to soon.

A decent Tijan novel. I liked the characters, but wish the ending had a little more to it. I felt like some of the side storylines were unresolved (like their parents and friends storylines). It didn’t have as much detail as I’m used to from Tijan. The main character reminded me a lot of the MC in Teardrop Shot.

Just to remember it: love triangle, drama, siblings, lost loved ones and all my usual NO WAY triggers, but somehow here it works

4.5 stars. Good grief! This book is a dream come true for people like me that love Angst and Teenage drama. I can honestly say that you won't find a story line quite like this one out there. If you like College and Friends to Lovers romance then this is definitely the book for you. Caden and Summer are such good main characters. They both seem to be honest to themselves and that's refreshing. Listened to this on audio and highly recommend that as well. The narrator was fantastic.

Caden - this guy is someting else. I loved him as a character and as a guy.
Yumm!

When I first looked at this story, I honestly did think it was going to be a step brother book. Holy smokes was I totally wrong! This book blew me away. This book is full of college drama, angst and getting past the pain of losing someone and replacing them with another, then getting over that grief. Throughout this whole book, I was blown away by how Tijan wrote about a girl that is so lost to finding that love that she deserves and moving past and moving forward in her life. Words cannot express how much this book blew me away!
Summer is one of those characters who is really socially inept but with her quick wit and her charm, she finds friends when she least expects it, especially with A**hole as she calls him. Their banter made me fall in love with them. Caden is just oh so sweet even though the world sees him otherwise. These two together mesh so well that you root for them through every page! Kevin.. Well let’s just say I really dislike that boy! There so many evil things I could think to do to him, it’s not funny.
What I really loved about Summer’s character is how much she builds herself up. Becomes her own person and someone stronger than she was when school started. The character build throughout was amazing and the pace was great. I honestly did not want it to end. I loved learning more about each character as it went along too. Just staking claim… Caden is MINE! I will not share that one!

Anti-Stepbrother is the ultimate guilty pleasure book in my opinion. Whew, it is drama, drama, drama with lust and steam and sexy times. So Goooood!! I seriously need to get my hands on more of Tijan’s books, especially if they are all this good!

The story centers around Summer, Caden, and idiot Kevin. But you know all that, it’s in the summary! (Okay, maybe not the part about idiot Kevin but it doesn’t take long to figure that one out) I just want you to know that it IS so good! The pacing is perfect, the drama just right, the sexual tension…delicious. And it actually has a plot! There was a hidden depth that I wasn’t expecting, which made it all that much better. All of your needs are equally met with Anti-Stepbrother. I swear!

I recommend this if you need some steam in your life, a little drama, and maybe one or two life lessons. Trust me, you’ll be searching out other books by Tijan once you finish!
