Why don't we teach this stuff in public high schools? I gave The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, & Broke 5 stars. While it might not be most people's favorite subject, it is so important to know how to handle money, debt, and savings at a young age. Time is on our side! This book is full of great information and knowledge. Orman presents her points in a very down to earth way, for people who truly are broke and are thousands (or tens of) in debt with loans and credit cards. She's breaks everything down to the bare bones. It's a great book for people like me, unsure of FICO scores, 401(k)s, and mutual fund investments. Orman informs us of what it all means, what to look out for, and good moves to make. She keeps it from getting too dry by writing in a conversational tone, using lots of examples, and having a Q&A section in each chapter.

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK! It explains everything that a beginner in the study of personal finance needs to know. I don't know why they don't cover any of this stuff in school.
I meant to read this when I was *actually* young and broke -- but I'm not so terribly old, and hey, I'm still fabulous -- so I grabbed this when I saw it at the library. This was OK but suffered a little bit from "all over the place" syndrome. Or it could be that I'm just too "old" for this one.

in 2012 I pledged to get myself out of CC debt and take back my finances. This book is great! Make sure to grab it from your local library and give it a read.
I think this book should be given out to every college graduate. It gives the reader a clear explanation of much needed financial information that wasn't taught in college. From your FICO score to info about retirement plans, to dealing with student loans, this book it filled with information every 20-something should know.
Book has great advice. I like to keep it as a reference and I recommend it to others. Personal finance can be really boring, but the personal stories/examples make it understandable and easy to relate to.
Your basic advice on how to pay down debt and save, but Orman manages not to make me feel like an idiot.
A book that every young person should get after high school or college, but one that I--a no longer "young person"--very much appreciated at my ripe old age of 32. Super easy to read and with a layout that is appealing rather than frightening, this is probably the only financial book I'll ever read and enjoy or appreciate.
Dear Suze,
Please let all of this amazing, valuable info sink into my thick actor skull. I needs it.
Blessed in brokeness,
Chris.
