gosh the art was stunning, it might not have had the most exciting plot but there’s some growth so i’m not too picky. i would love to have freddy’s friend group, they’re all supportive within good reason :,)
This was good but I have NO idea why it's on so many, "If you loved Heartstopper you'll love this..." lists. Unless you loved Heartstopper because of the Tao/Charlie drama when Charlie started dating Nick? Then maybe you'd like this one? I don't know.
But regardless, it was cute. I loved the "advice column" POV and I especially loved the underlying message of the importance of not letting love *take* more than it *gives* to a person. I also loved cute flirtatious humor between Freddy and Vi...gotta love friendships built around embarrassing drunken vomiting.

the art was beautiful, but the main character got on my nerves and the plot was pretty disjointed.

Beautiful art. The story is definitely for a different, younger audience than myself, so I would recommend it to older teens and potentially some young adults.
"It's true that giving can be a part of love. But, contrary to popular belief, love should never take from you, Freddy."
loved the gorgeous art style! as much as i was drawn in by the visuals, i found the plot lacking and, honestly, kind of unsatisfying. it touches on tough issues, but they aren’t fully explored.

Stunning art.
The story felt raw and messy in all the best ways. I had a couple of issues with it though, which is why it isn’t a full 4.
I wish thatDoodle’s groomer/rapist(!) was condemned more clearly . The guy isn’t portrayed as a good person, but I still felt like narrative put too much blame on Doodle for ”sleeping with a married man” when she was infact a minor & the guy held a position of power over her. (He was her DM/Dungeon Master.)
As other reviewers have already pointed out, it sends a bi-/panphobic message when it’s mentioned that Laura Dean once broke up with Freddy “to date boys for a while.” Laura Dean is alsoa serial cheater, which further perpetuates bi-/panphobic stereotypes imo.
At one point, Freddy randomly kisses someone she had just met to get back at Laura Dean. It was totally out of the blue. The nonconsensual nature of the kiss was not addressed at all.
