So this is gonna be a tough one to review because of be really never read a book like this one. I have never been so invested in a book where I hate all the characters, but a first time for everything I guess.
I was super surprised with how popular some of these characters are when they are so awful. I understand the book is about generational trauma but my god these people are awful yet I didn’t want to stop reading.

My rating – Four Stars.
Where I pick this book, I didn't know if I was going to like is book but surprisingly, I really enjoyed is book. I think people who like the picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde or the family inside by Katie Garner may like is book. The cover of book was okay. The writing was great, but it took some time to get used to also the ending was well done. The atmosphere was both gothic and well written and I think it was my favourite thing about the book. I think author did great job writing about the ugly side of the Victorian era and the author did not shy away from writing about the grim and ugly side of the Victorian era.
I saw another review saying at this book regarded as an epic romantic tragedy but it more about bunch of abused people who are both in desperate need of therapy to break the pattern of generational trauma they are entrenched in, and I couldn't agree more. The paced of plot was bit slow but it was still well structured and steady paced. The characters very hard to like and I did have a hard time to connect with them

Messy, entertaining, concerning, objectionable, troubling, and funny sorry im kinda obsessed 😭 All these people have their opportunities to absolutely suck throughout this novel (HEATHCLIFF! HINDLEY! LINTON!) but they all also have their moments to drop the funniest clapbacks and they seize the chance whenever it arises with gusto. Everyone is so ridiculous and absurd and 100% bonafide fucking haters. 10/10 — many notes, but 10/10
