Read for school. But encourage people to read and learn more about Indigenous authors and stories . My favourite story was Skraeling by Rachael Qitsualik-Tinsley

A really interesting concept for a collection of short stories! As with most I found I enjoyed some more than others, but overall found their creativity and topics quite interesting. (Read for Central Book Club)

A really interesting collection, the premise of getting information on important Indigenous events out to people via essentially historical fiction is a great idea. The tone varies quite a bit from author to author which was somewhat jarring but reading one or two a day was a good pace.
The highlight was Coyote And The Enemy Aliens which is probably because I had read Thomas King's short story collection and knew the writing style. A close runner-up is Lee Maracle's Goodbye, Snauq and makes me want to read more of her work. The only story I wasn't a fan of was The Moon Of Dancing Suns, I found the story hard to follow.

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories and essays. Educational, thought-provoking, and beautifully written. Although I liked all of the contributions to this collection, I’d have to say I was most struck by Tomson Highway’s “Hearts and Flowers,” which was set in 1960, at the same time Indigenous peoples in Canada finally got the right to vote. Thomas King’s “Coyote and the Enemy Aliens” and Drew Hayden Taylor’s “A Blurry Image on the Six O’Clock News” were other standouts for me.
