Something might be wrong with me, because everybody else seems to like it. I'm not sure if it's my taste for modern drama or I just can't stand stupidity and ignorance saved in the last minute by a third party and everyone ends up happily.
I obviously need to see it performed in order to enjoy it properly.

Very funny! Ending sort of pulls a Deus Ex Machina, but such is the nature of a comedy, I suppose!

witty but quite simplistic. at least it does not overstay its welcome. weird for me to read a play in rhyming verse, can't remember the last time i did that!

Absolutely brilliant! Hilarious, and easy to read and it rhymes!

I recently finished Tartuffe for my French lit analysis class, and I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I saw the play in English a few years ago, but I have to say either that was a mediocre translation or it's just way funnier in French. A lot of sarcasm and a lot of irony. A lot of situational and gestural comedy as well. Definitely worth reading the play rather than just watching it; it gives you a better chance to catch all the subtle wordplays and humor.
