The romantic and slightly more convoluted ending aside, this is pure Christie magic.

Honestly, this was my least favorite of Agatha Christie's books so far.
The beginning was very confusing, I had to reread it to understand exactly what was happening, because it seemed a little out of place; it only started to pick up some pace in the middle of the book, with the crime analysis by Poirot; although the ending gave some of the events in the beginning a bit of meaning, it still felt very weird and out of place.
Usually, I pick up the small clues that Christie leaves through the book and have my suspicions on a few different characters along the way, but this time it felt like each time there was a new development, it didn't contribute to advance the story and the resolution of the crime.
Additionally, it felt like Poirot was a bit out of the main plot, because a lot of the things that could be included throughout the story were only quickly mentioned by him (as a character) and never experienced or described to the reader (almost as if it was purposefully hidden so the reader couldn't suspect who committed the crime). The focus on certain characters, like Katherine, was also weird, when, in the end, everything seemed to be explained through superstition and sudden sensations.
It was still enjoyable, just not as much as some of her other Poitot books.
