I loved the art in this one and I enjoyed the characters a lot. The focus on the dancing was a bit too much for me (I do think the dancing would work beautifully in anime) but I still liked 10 Dance!.

I just hope that the relationship between the two main characters will be explored and will evolve more in the following volume.

May 2022. BL manga series about two men famous for very different styles of dancing, Latin (e.g., Cha-Cha, Samba) and Standard (e.g., Waltz, Tango), who begin to practice together to teach one another the opposite styles, in order compete in the 10 Dance, a competition that requires dancers to do 5 Latin style dances and 5 standard style dances.

Does the slow burn phenomenally well, with them seeing each other as rivals but admiring their skills, and as time goes on in volume 1 they start to stay late past the agreed upon practice time to dance together as a pair.

Full of tension and personality, I cannot recommend this series enough. With the characters’ personality and the interesting elemenrs of culture and dance, I could see this series appealing to people who aren’t as interested in reading queer romance as I am, too.

I’ve gotten the 5/6 volumes from Sac library and am on a waitlist for 6. This is a series I will definitely buy in full when I can and will preorder future volumes as they come out.

4.5 Stars

Writing this review a good while after having read this volume, I can say that I think the fact I read this right after reading one of the best manga ever may have clouded my experience a tiny bit. I do think this could be a 5 star read in the future when I inevitably return to these characters.

I love ballroom and latin dancing, watching couples just dance together and create such art with just music and their bodies is so special and emotional. So when I found out this manga existed, I knew I would love it.

The author and artist really delves in to the art of dance in this, so if you don't enjoy dance outside of what these characters make it in to with their relationship, then I would say this is probably not the story for you.

I loved the dynamic between our two main characters, their back and forth and clashing personalities really worked well together with the plot of the story. I can really see the promise that this story shows and think it will work well across a 10-ish volume series (hopefully)!

I am so excited to delve in to volume two and see our two Shinya's learn to dance and learn to be super gay together :)
