A soft-hearted murder mystery that's perfect for anyone who loves Amelia Bedelia and unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks!

Read it in one evening. Several chuckles. Nice to see a neurodiverse character. A bit cheesy at times but there were some twists I didn’t expect and a lovely message of embracing who you are.

Only minutes into this book it became one of my favorites ever! It is beautiful book about human relations with a murder sprinkled over. And the main character is an Eleanor Olyphant type character, you’ll either live her or hate her.

I tried so hard but honestly this book was a bit boring.
It felt more like a character study than a mystery which is what saved it for me.
I loved the main character, she’s what kept me reading, and my guess is that she’s on the spectrum, however, what bothered me was that it was never really talked about  or stated that she is. She knew she was “different” and it’s talked about how she struggles with social cues, facial expressions, etc, but never stated why. It felt like a missed opportunity to come out and state that she’s on the spectrum and get some autism rep going.
The pacing was also a bit off like a lot happened in the end but not much in the beginning and middle.
Those are all my gripes with the book and because of Molly (the mc) this is a solid 4 star read. If she wasn’t as well realised and thought out this would’ve probably been a 3 star read.

I appreciate that the main character is neuro-divergent.  It made for an interesting twist on the typical murder mystery.  It was also informative on the struggles that someone whose behavior is considered abnormal might have to deal with on a day to day basis.
