Zu Beginn fiel es mir nicht sehr leicht in die Geschichte einzutauchen, dennoch hat mir die Idee gefallen. Gegen Ende hat sich für mich auch mehr Spannung aufgebaut und zu sehen wie sich die Figuren entwickelt hatten, hat mich durchaus gefesselt. Alles in allem, ein gutes Buch, dass mich persönlich aber nicht so sehr berührt hat wie andere.

I can’t fully comprehend how Emily Brontë was just so ahead of her time — writing not only about the cycle of abuse and how it’s perpetrator did it all as a cruel act of revenge, but to also write it in such a strange format where it is told twice and thrice removed is so uniquely artistic.
This was a 317 page read for me, but it felt triple that with how dense of a prose it has. The characters are multi faceted and extremely complex all the while being utterly unlikeable — but I couldn’t help but love them all. A thunderous chain of events that ends once Heathcliff meets his end, it makes me wonder how much knowledge Brontë had of the complexities of mental illness and the human psyche. While I am very exhausted now after reading this, I definitely don’t regret it. I can’t exactly form words about how I feel about Wuthering Heights, only that I have this great appreciation for it.
