Folk who say Dostoevsky is the most depressing author, must have not read this novel soaked in rage and revenge. 

Sadly (or not), it's a reread. Now off to watch an adaptation or two and read some scholarly texts on Wuthering Heights.

brontë does a really good job at making the reader feel sympathy for heathcliff and what he has been through whilst condemning his actions, and really effectively highlights the ways racism was causing conflict in society
