This book was good, but not as good as “there’s someone inside your House” but I like the book. Firstly, I’m gonna go over the things I didn’t like. (Which is only two things) and one example of a thing that did like.  For the things I didn’t like was that the pacing is kind of slow but once you get into the second part, that’s when The action starts and The other thing was the revealed that the villains were
rapists.
(which I did not expect to be in a young adult novel) an one example of a good thing I liked was that I love the main characters and their friendship I was basically rooting for them to kick the main villains ass in the end.

SPECTACULAR!!!! This book was absolutely gripping. The first 100 pages seem long and pointless but they place wonderful hints that you don’t notice until after the book. This book was gory, horrifying, and gripping. I could not put it down. I will remember this book and ‘There’s Someone Inside Your House’ with the egg timer. This book is so remarkably unique and I’m intrigued and terrified to see what else Stephanie Perkins cooks up!

Book was horribly written the start of the book is just whiny teenagers going on a hike before college. The author took forever to even get to what the story is about. Basically you might as well just watch the hills have eyes because that’s 10x better then this book. The author completely tried to go for the Hills have Eyes plot and failed miserably.

I'm using spoiler tags because the main threat of the book is not revealed until deep into the page count. Aside from revealing the threat and my issues with it, the spoilers are minimal and do not pertain to the plot.

A thrilling quick read. My rating would be higher if
the actions of the villains weren't immediately blamed on their bad (addict, sex worker) mothers. Most of the book is so delightfully anti-sexism, then it trips and falls into the "the bad actions of men can be blamed on failed women" trope. Ms. Perkins, you didn't have to do that.

I would advise anyone who is sensitive to graphic content mind the content warnings/trigger warnings for this book (which were not included in the actual book and not on the author's website, disappointing). Skimmed the last third, would not read again.

The first half of this book? Two stars at most. I almost put it down and DNFed it.

The second half of this book? It felt ripped from the headlines or a My Favorite Murder episode told by Karen. It was bloody and gory and survivalist to its core.

Combine both halves, it's a middling book that barely held my attention for a while, so some of the stuff in the second half was lost on me.
