I adored this story of two awkward teens whose art (combined with summertime boredom) accidentally causes the Coalfield Panic of 1996. I read Nothing to See Here when it came out, and with this latest, I’m officially in love with Wilson’s distinctive, quirky writing. And holy cow, his comments at the end.
In the words of Frankie and Zeke, “The edge is a shantytown filled with gold seekers. We are fugitives, and the law is skinny with hunger for us.”
Thanks to Libro.fm and their ALC program for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. Wonderful narration from Ginnifer Goodwin.

Loved the writing and plot. Cool view on what happens to art/who owns art after it’s made public. Felt a little disconnected from protagonist because of her level of obsession even after the panic in the present day but otherwise I loved the characters and plot.

This felt so real. About being a creative teenager who doesn't fit in, about finding power in creation, about the reach and responsibilities of art. So much packed into a slim book! I really enjoyed it.
