I’m giving this book 4 stars primarily because Glennon Doyle is a very compelling writer. She uses anecdotal evidence from her past to invite others (especially women) to live freer, more “untamed” lives.

I LOVED this book from the start but then it got so political and religious it just wasn’t for me.

‘BE STILL AND KNOW.
I'd read that verse many times before, but it struck me freshly this time. It didn't say "Poll your friends and know" or "Read books by experts and know" or "Scour the internet and know." It suggested a different approach to knowing: Just. Stop.
StopMovingStopTalkingStopSearchingStopPa nicking-StopFlailing.’
Right. i love the core message of this book. some amazing quotes in here and lots of food for thought. got 50 pages in and was really likeing this book
and then it all got a bit repetitive. like the same thing over and over.
and then it all got a bit wishy washy and and bit TOO spiritual for me
maybe 2.5 stars was a bit harsh but idk this took me a longggg time to get through

I really enjoyed listening to Glennon recount her experiences of adapting to some of the big changes in her life. I also loved the glimpses of her adorable love and partnership with Abby. Thank you to whoever put a brand new copy of this in the Mill No. 1 (not-)little free library
