I enjoyed this book well enough, though it didn't blow me away as I'd hoped it would. I don't know if that's because Hemingway's style isn't quite mine, or if I know too much about Hemingway to fully enjoy it. I kept noticing misogyny under his thin veneer of wit, and it drove me a little nuts. I also didn't love the disjointed nature of the book - because it was so short - but I realize that's stylistic.

I will say however as a Fitzgerald lover (alas) I did absolutely adore the Fitzgerald anecdotes. Just incredibly hilarious. Though I felt back for Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds while reading it.

So, ultimately a lukewarm response. I'll probably read Hemingway again someday. But I'm a little disappointed that my first foray, about Paris which is always wonderful to read about, was somewhat lackluster. Though some of it is probably my fault for how I read it. Perhaps I'll pick this one up again in time and have a better appreciation of it. One can hope.
