3.71 AVERAGE

I am so sorry for the bac review yet again I cannot even imagine to give more higher points than I just did.
It's as easy reading as it will ever be for anyone aged...up to 17.
It was interesting...because of the above.
The plot was just as predictable than any other love story I've ever read. I know alot of pople give high scores for the plot itself but I just can't stand it because of all the "cute" clichés
It was intimidating, made me even think for a second there however everything considered, it got boring and quick in the end.
I don't like giving bad reviews to talented writers and here's why I didn't give the score 1.
So in conclusion.
Easy reading - 5
Talent in writing - 5
Plot - 1
The length - 1 (Took me an hour and a half to finish a book. Could've watched a movie instead.)
Characteristics - 1 (I know nothing about the main character. All I actually know she was a virgin nymph).

While reading this book, I read some of the reviews on goodreads about it. That Greta was "weak" and had no backbone. That she "needed to show some self respect." I wholeheartedly disagree. I freaking loved Greta. She was a great character. She was morally sound, and stood up for what she believed in.

Then you have Elec. Oh, how I loved Elec. Elec was awesome. He had secrets, we knew this. I had no idea what to expect, but the truth was VERY surprising and unexpected. I fell in love with both of the characters pretty quickly. And I don't think it's taboo or unexpected that step-siblings could develop feelings for one another.

I would highly recommend this book. Read it. It's one of the best of 2014.

2.5/5
emotional hopeful tense medium-paced

This book!! Wow!  I thought I was in for a kind of standard new adult taboo romance but, no, it was much more. I will preface that I listened to the audiobook and it was GRIPPING. Got the recommendation for audio from a friend and so glad I did!

I don’t listen to audiobooks much and so far the handful I’ve tried, I usually find the narrators kind of plain or I really like one but not the other and I have to work to focus. In this book both narrators are fantastic, really kind of more on the acting it out side rather than just reading. The narration really held my interest and maybe made me feel more emotional than if I had just read it visually but not sure. The story was great either way but the audiobook really bumped this up I think!

I was initially maybe feeling a little too old to read books where the MCs are 18 but the rest of the book took place as later adults so it worked out.

I just loved the push-pull between them, Elec just being a big sh!t-stirrer but you get a little why later and loved Greta’s sweetness and fascination with him.

Greta was so, so sweet, her letter to him and his response made me swoon so hard. Just how she really got him and how he really needed someone to get him… 😍Even when they grow up and see each other again…ahh Elec, his heart. He just needs all the hugs and love. I love a kinda a-hole MMC with a broken little heart inside and the FMC that can really see him.

As second chance type books do to me, apparently…I was so emotional, I was so f-cking sad for them! Bawled my eyes out. The GUSP I GASPED when they reunited and she saw him on the balcony… aggghhh. Then just cried some more all through the parts after that…them being around each other again but stuff being in the way…streesss and sadnesss 😭 lol I was not prepared. Also some grief/comfort themes which also makes it emotional. Pretty much sobbed through the whole middle of the book. Damn, man. It was more than I expected when I picked up this book - that is for sure!!

Anyway this is getting long but… I loved this audiobook/book and definitely recommend! It has tons of ratings and reviews so it seems well known but if you haven’t picked it up already - I’d say go for it!

I read it because this was recommended to me. It was a great way to pass time when unwell, that's about it. I didn't like the characters at all. The plot was okay but too sappy for a quick fun read.

First I have to start by saying I like Ms. Douglas's work. This was just a bit of a disappointment. It doesn't even seem like this book was from the same author.

Elec was hot and broody, a great bad boy but he had so few redeeming qualities. He loved his mother unconditionally and embarked in a career to help troubled kids.

He is such a dick to Greta...all the time. Yes, it apparent in his own twisted way that he care for Greta. Essentially everyone knew about the night before Elec left but they all brushed it under the rug? The whole stepbrother taboo issue is so small, he only lives as such for several months. With the relationship he has with his dad, the whole stepbrother thing is even more insignificant.

The weirdest part of the book was Greta reading his story. We learned a crucial fact or two why that family was so jacked. But 'his' story literally retold what had just happened in the book. Um redundancy or what?

Yes, they get their HEA so there is one plus to the book.

I didn't love reading from Elec's point of view because it seemed like the story was just being repeated with a little bit of insight. Overall though it was a story that kept me hooked.

Decent little time waster when you just want to turn off your brain

Pretty good but not as angst as I expected.
I also didn't enjoy the weird repetition caused by the presentation of 2 POVs
I did like the plot twist
