Ouchhhh.

This book is so good, but it's also seriously disturbing, in many, many different ways.

Good Me, Bad Me is about Milly. Milly's mother tortured and murdered young boys and Milly was forced to watch. Now, Milly lives with a foster family. Their daughter, Phoebe, abuses and bullies Milly every chance she gets - even under the watchful eye of her father, who has been tasked with helping Milly recover from the trauma of her upbringing.

You still with me? This book is hella dark, but it's also a blindingly good ride (the ending is a bit predictable). Milly is a fantastic unreliable narrator, with demons of her own - one of which is her mother, who still 'speaks' to Milly in her mind, others the little ghosts of her mother's victims, and still others, the bullies at school, who never leave her alone, not for a moment's peace.

Is it any wonder that Milly finds her mind fracturing, her world spinning into chaos? Is it any wonder that she fears she is just like dear old Mom? Is it any wonder that she fears facing her mother in the courtroom? Fears her own memories, which are much darker than it seems anyone has ever guessed?

This is a roller coaster ride of a psychological thriller, and certainly not for the faint of heart. Milly is not for the faint of heart. And when it's over, when the dust has settled, and the blood, it begs the question: nature or nurture?

Are killers made or are they born?

I listened to this book as an Audiobook on Audible. First off, amazing narrator. Second, this book was NUTS and very disturbing. Annie/Millie a true product of what she was raised around. Heartbreaking.

Really held my interest, right up until the very end, even though I suspected the outcome. If you like dark, twisty, psychological thrillers,Good Me Bad Me will not disappoint.

3.5 rounding up. A very interesting story, but I wouldn't categorize it as a thriller, although a bit twisted. The audiobook narration is very good, with a length of 10 hours.
