i’ve been a sherlock fan since my teens and have seen just about every sherlock adaptation there is except for the original story, until today. i had a lot of fun! it did veer off randomly and switch povs near the middle which did feel a bit redundant, but other than that i really enjoyed this book.

side note: i couldn’t help but notice john referred to sherlock as his “partner” throughout the whole book until the final line where he calls him his “friend”… very interesting indeed.

I was enjoying the first half, but Doyle lost me in the second with the western/Mormon part.

Quite a good murder mystery, and a great introduction to Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. It’s a bit weird that there are so many chapters dedicated to the ‘origin story’ of the murderer, but it remained interesting nonetheless.
