Amazing novella to start off the year and break my reading slump. Mea Monique writes her FMCs really bold in a way I can appreciate.

Now Mea where is book 2? I feel like it may include Trevor and the sister story.

Quick and cute romance couples. I was rooting for their love story.

Nice quick read. Don't really like the trope where he doesn't know he loved her, or he is too scared to try, so when she confesses he pushes her away, but in this one since it was so short, that only last for a few pages and was easily tolerable.

1.5

I hate this. And the fact that this book is 109 pages and there is a break up is outrageous.

Cute book.

The public declarations of love did cringe me out a little but overall alright

★ 2 stars

Not much to say about this one other than it's a short novella which focuses on author Josephine and NFL player Caleb. Tropes are friends to lovers and fake dating.

Disappointed because I absolutely love fake dating but there's so many other books that do this better (Blind Side by Kandi Steiner - I know this is a full book you could easily make that a novella as well for the sake of comparison).

Caleb was kind of cute but I just found it way too cringy and insta love. I know it's a novella so you lose a lot of the build up but it just seemed like one minute they are friends, then lovers for "research" for her new adult fantasy book and then instantly in love with each other. As a reader you just didn't feel the FMC's feelings evolve at all. I actually thought I missed some pages when she confessed her love to him? But nope it just happened suddenly. Don't even get me started on the third act break up 90 pages into a 107 page novella?! Why the author thought that was necessary I have no idea.

I was here for the smut but this was also pretty cringy and could have been way better. Felt like it was over before it even started. The most interesting part of this book was the reference to Caleb's 15 million dollar dick.

I didn't really feel anything while reading this book. 2 stars because Caleb knows how to look after a woman but tbh most of it was just the bare minimum.

Meh!

Another book raved about on IG, it definitely didn’t reach the level of hype in my opinion. However, I didn’t hate it.

As a sports fan, some aspects were too unrealistic. Plus for me the characters didn’t connect. Not sure what was missing, but it was something. I think as a full length novel or even longer novella- I may have enjoyed it more.
