I quite enjoyed this novel! It was a bit repetitive, but the mystery was intriguing. It also was not as oldfashioned and dated as I'd feared.

Well. It was slow. The main character was unbelievably unlikable with no depth or personality. Things that would help one make guesses to the offender were not mentioned until the last 30 pages or so, and came out of no where. Almost everyone in the book had ideas about who killed the victim with no solid evidence, and disregarded any evidence that flew in the face of their preexisting convictions. Overall it really felt like NOTHING HAPPENED in the entire book. Not one of MHC's better showings, that is for certain.

This was another great book by MHC....like most of her books this story is told from many different perspectives so that you never really know what is going on as far as the mystery goes. I found myself REALLY wanting Peter to be innocent (no spoilers here...I wont say if he was or not)

I always enjoy reading Mary Higgins Clark's mysteries. I read this one in two sittings. I appreciate that Clark's stories aren't too gory or intense. In fact, my 13 year old daughter read this one too and she also liked it very much.

The characters aren't extremely deep, but you do get a pretty good idea of the major players. In order to keep the book short enough to read quickly, Clark jumps quickly from what happened long ago to modern day. There were some pretty far-fetched, almost cheesy situations, but I was okay with that for this story.

Everything is tied neatly in a bow at the end and you don't have to wait until the very ending to learn what happens. If you're looking for something easy to get lost in for a weekend, this is a good choice.

The book keeps you captivated from the beginning to the end, there are a lot of characters but they’re easy to keep track of (I took notes). The plot was so intriguing & just kept twisting & turning that you had to know what happens!!!

This book seemed to go on forever without anything happening. Very shallow characters
