Absolutely incredible. Not only is the story well thought out, fun, and heartwarming with it’s messages and relatable characters, the art is beautiful. You can tell the artist had so much fun drawing this, and seeing the process at the end of the book (most/all traditional???) was a great insight into the work that went into the creation of this story.

This story highlights the authenticity of being queer, but does so without the expectation or label of queerness. Rather, we have Sebastian who is just being. It’s explained and shown with nuance, yet simplicity in terms of Sebastian just being Sebastian.
I appreciated how such a sensitive topic was handled so well, and as a queer and trans person, I found a lot of solace and representation while reading.

We deserve to have lovely stories like fairy tales too!

I loved that the book represented a diversity of gender expression without dissolving into 2D characterizations or stereotypes. I also loved that all of the characters showed nuance and growth. No relationship was 100% perfect or 100% awful, and I especially loved how the
Spoiler prince's father wasn't understanding at first, but really came around after a positive influence from the protagonist.
. It was just a more believable turn of events than a preachy message or argument would've been. It was also more believable that the parents
Spoiler didn't kick the prince out or denounce him or anything, but also didn't immediately jump to 100% understanding and support right away.
. Also, the main relationship of the story, as well as Frances' career progression, were just so captivating. Excellent read.
