I think I loved this one best in the series, even though the writer is an awful person. I keep getting back to their work, a literal guilty pleasure

This book, like all in the series, would benefit from tight editing and should have been half the length. Having said that, the author is a proven master in the art of plotting. And, I'll probably read the next installment in the series because I'm invested in Cormoran & Robyn, an investment that began in the opening scenes of the first book. It's complicated!

Another Cormoran Strike novel I couldn't put down. I feel so sad it's over. Did the topic well.

This book was too long. The story was definitely a page turner, but is was jam-packed with unnecessary repitition of brutally triggering events and abuses. There is also a very obvious theme of fatphobia throughout the entire book. I would not recommend anyone with an eating disorder read this book. I'm officially done with JKR/RG's antics in her writing. Yes, she writes exciting stories. However, she's so transparently problematic and I'm just exhausted of her. Sad I spent money on this book.
