SpoilerI'll scream it from the rooftops: THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD! It truly has it all. In this book, Shayla and Rowan are so beautiful together. I love that Shayla's anxieties aren't used as a crutch or excuse; She's still loved and appreciated. I really loved how her trauma from losing/watching her husband lose his battle to cancer was explained as the cause and how she worked through them. My favorite was how her husband wasn't demonized despite Shay giving up so much of who she was to be what he wanted, and her son needed - AND I LOVE THAT ROWAN BROUGHT HER BACK TO HERSELF. 4 stars because the confrontation between Rowan and his dad seemed unnecessary. I love Rowan, but Shay annoyed me a bit.

The MomComs are giving me life and I was not ready for Rowan and his dirty mouth and heart of gold. The hockey god was brought to his knees by single mom Shay from the moment he caught her ogling him in the locker room. Only this man embraced his desire and went after his girl, full stop, no holds bared. Shay is a widower, single mom, "ball of nevers" who lost herself after the tragedy of losing her husband. Come to find out, she lost herself in the marriage long before he passed away. Rowan comes into her life like a wrecking ball and she doesn't know what to make of this younger, cocky man that looks at her like she is the most precious thing in the world. And the way he adores her son and treats him? Swoon! Rowan makes Shay want to live again and as much as that scares her, she knows her and Kai deserve to be happy and live life. This couple was HOT! HOT! HOT! but absolutely so sweet and so perfect for each other at the same. If the other moms approve, you know Rowan is a good man and the one for her. Mother Pucker was just as humorous as the others in the series, with a little more emotional factors thrown in and I was here for it. The cameos from the rest of their found family in the dilapidated brownstone will keeps the laughs coming and the heart eyes swooning. This is an absolute must read, 5+ stars. It was so good I read it in one day! In the end, everyone deserves a love that "takes out the mights and justs, and says it again."

With each book from The MomComs I fall more in love with the world that these authors created for the stories of their characters! and with Shay & Rowan I got a big surprise thanks to the unexpected plot, the moments they shared with little Kai and reading much more about Beckett's secret plans!

Shay is the most cautious of the moms, a woman who lost her husband 3 years ago to cancer, a situation that left her lost and terrified of losing her little son Kai, too. I was surprised and I really liked reading a little more about the old Shay, the adventures she had with the girls and how she lost herself little by little, and although it broke my heart to know her full story, I also liked reading her grow a lot throughout the book, fighting her demons, her fears and giving Kai, and herself, the opportunity to be happy and enjoy life. Another thing I really liked about this character was knowing that Shay has more people in her friendship circle who love and support her as much as Liv, Dylan & Delia.

I think Rowan is my favorite male character in the series so far: a professional hockey player (Kai's favorite), beyond cocky, flirtatious, who says what he wants, thinks and feels, and he doesn't stop until he gets it, especially when it comes to having Shay as his physical therapist, and then as something more. Rowan won my heart because in addition to being the sweetest with Shay, he is also the sweetest with Kai and I loved that he always showed how important they both are to him, plus he also has important and interesting growth throughout the book.

Shay & Rowan have a therapist-patient relationship that is what brings them together initially, but is also one of the main obstacles for Shay to accept the attraction she feels for Rowan, however, he’s persistent, and I loved that with his flirting, his gifts, his sweetness and the security he constantly gives Shay & Kai he managed to convince her to give herself a chance to start living again. I also loved that, without knowing it, Rowan helps Shay find herself little by little, that he falls in love with Kai as much as he does with his mother and that she is willing to face her fears to allow herself to be happy and live the love story she always deserved.

This is Shay and Rowan's story.  Rowan has som top notch dirty talk.  Shay is so obessesed with health food and keeping her son, Kia, "safe" that is got a bit annoying.  I felt bad for Kia all he wanted was to be a normal kid and play ice hockey and Shay was too scared at first to let him do it.  I did love how Rowan was able to slowly get her to relax, without completely changing her.  Their relationship was wonderful to watch develop.
