Metro 2034 is a new story, completely different from Metro 2033, so if you’re going into this looking to pick up where book 1 left off, you will be sorely disappointed. Artyom, Metro 2033’s main character, has a very small role in Metro 2034. Besides it not being a continuation of Metro 2033 as the games are, it was a pretty good book. New characters, new areas of the Metro explored, new problems to overcome.

The End of the Road bonus chapter so saved the overall rating for me, it was the best 30 pages of the book (unlike the main story) I don't understand why men that write women like they never talked to one insist on having a teenage girl (and an analysis her first contact and exploration of love at that) in the main cast... The philosophical inner monologue that kinda worked in 2033 felt very out of place here, many of the character interaction and dialogues felt forced and very self-serving, like a means ti an end instead of organic reflection or characters.

When I got this to read I thought that it would be as good as the first one... but... no this was very bad... it felt like the writer tried to put in everything that he didn't put in the first one... female characters (which surprisingly lack in the first one) more monster fights... etc... but not done properly, and the Greek transaltion leaves much to be desired as well, very boring overall stay away...

Bringing a love story to this book was definitely not a good idea. However, I liked Homer's plot very much, so all in all, it's rather good.
But I have to say, the first one was better.

Philosophy ✕ Survival thriller

This was a shitty animu rewrite, albino protagonist included.
