This one is not for the faint of heart. Lots of triggers including child abuse, sexual assault, and child death.

Not a favorite, but not on the ditch list...
Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough was a very quick read complete with uncovered secrets, hidden identities, and the complex relationship between a mother and daughter. I was very surprised by the quick twists in the book - they were perfectly timed and left me second-guessing my intuition. I wasn't able to guess what would be coming next and I enjoyed that.
However, I wasn't totally grasped by the narrative and found some stretches to be slow. Definitely an easy and quick read if you are looking for a bit of a mystery/suspense book.

This probably deserves a re-read because I was rushing to finish it & go so confused. I didn’t know who was who & the timeline had me mixed up.

Everything was fine and cool before THIS FUCKING ENDING! SUPER UNREALISTIC!
