I really enjoyed the folk elements to this book, and the world it was set it. However, it felt like it took a while to get started and I almost felt like a chunk in the middle could have been cut because it wasn’t doing much to drive the plot forward. Sections felt quite repetitive to the theme without any real purpose. When it got towards the end of the book, the pace picked up and I felt like this is where the action really lay. The ending was slightly ambiguous and I felt a bit flat. All in all enjoyable but not sensational.
